On behalf of the Health Insurance Institute of Slovenia (Zavod za zdravstveno zavarovanje Slovenije or ZZZS), it is my great pleasure to extend a warm welcome to all potential conference delegates attending the 36th PCSI conference. This highly anticipated event will take place in our enchanting city of Bled, Slovenia, from the 28th to the 31st of May, 2024.
We are hosting this 36th conference together with the PCSI and the Nordic Casemix Centre (NCC), and our common aim to explore and celebrate the theme “Code, cost, analyse and fund: Let’s harness the value of casemix.”
Slovenia holds a special place in the heart of casemix enthusiasts as it marks our return to revitalizing the fundamental components of casemix after two decades of implementation. Since the last conference here in 2005, we have renewed our commitment to enhancing these vital aspects of casemix to unlock the immense value it offers for managing, planning and funding health care and improving patient outcomes. Throughout this conference, we will engage in thought-provoking discussions, share best practices, and explore innovative strategies to leverage the true potential of casemix.
I encourage all participants to take full advantage of this conference, seizing the opportunity to connect with leading experts, researchers, and practitioners from around the world. Engage in fruitful conversations, exchange ideas, and form new partnerships that will foster continued progress and advancement in the field.
Once again, I extend my warmest welcome to each of you. Let us come together in Bled, Slovenia to strengthen the foundations of casemix to achieve healthcare excellence.
I eagerly anticipate meeting you all at the 36th PCSI conference in May 2024.
Sincerely,
doc. dr. Tatjana Mlakar
General director, ZZZS
On behalf of the PCSI, it is my honour to welcome you to the 36th PCSI conference.
Since our establishment in 1987 in Lisbon, Portugal, the PCSI has been dedicated to uniting users, researchers and developers of patient classification systems worldwide. We began our journey with a primary focus on Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) systems, and over the years, our goals have expanded to encompass different settings and applications beyond funding, and including value based health care.
Today, the PCSI stands as the leading global organization driving the advancement and use of patient classification systems. Our unwavering commitment to the science of “grouping patients” continues to stimulate research, foster innovation, and revolutionize healthcare practices more than three decades after our inception.
As with our previous conferences, the 36th PCSI conference offers an opportunity to again delve into the intricacies of casemix. At this conference, we will explore the theme “Code, cost, analyse and fund: Let’s harness the value of casemix,” delving into the crucial components that underpin casemix. As we converge in the picturesque city of Bled, Slovenia, we are presented with a backdrop that inspires creativity, collaboration, and intellectual exchange.
I express my sincerest gratitude to ZZZS for hosting this conference, and to the NCC for partnering with us again for this event. The strong support and commitment from these two organisations have brought this event to fruition.
I extend my warmest welcome to each participant, recognizing the significant contributions you have made to the field of casemix. Your participation will ignite new ideas, drive innovation, and propel casemix science to new horizons.
I look forward to our gathering in Bled, Slovenia, for the 36th PCSI conference, where our collective expertise and dedication will further advance casemix and drive positive change in health care.
